CASE STUDIES
Proven in the field
Four applications, one pattern: the cable is specified around the movement, not the other way round. The cases below are typical builds from our programme — the constructions, ratings and kit formats are the ones machine builders actually order from us, from first sample to repeat production runs.

FOOD PACKAGING · DENMARK
High-speed flow-pack lines in Danish food packaging
The application
A builder of horizontal flow-pack and tray-sealing machines for the Danish food industry runs its pusher and sealing axes around the clock. The drag chains on these machines are short, tight and fast, and the cables inside them work in air carrying oil and fat mist from the sealing process.
The challenge
At well over a hundred packs a minute, bending cycles accumulate faster than maintenance schedules expect. Standard PVC chain cables stiffened in the cold parts of the hall, then cracked at the bend. On a packaging line, an unplanned stop costs more per hour than the cable set it stops for.
The Hyverton build
The fast axes are wired with EKM71900, our PUR high-speed drag chain cable — a special polyurethane jacket over a fine-strand Class 6 conductor, rated for more than 20 million bending cycles and resistant to the oils that attack PVC. Slower auxiliary axes use EKM71100 high-speed flex, and the sealing-axis drives run on our shielded Servo Motor Cable. Everything is cut to the machine's axis lengths and delivered as labelled per-axis kits, so the builder's fitters mount a set instead of cutting from a drum.
Products used: EKM71900 PUR High-Speed, EKM71100 High-Speed Flex, Servo Motor Cable
Jacket: PUR, oil-resistant · Bending cycles: over 20 million · Supply: per-axis kits, cut to length · Custom runs from 300 m

WOODWORKING MACHINERY · POLAND
CNC machining centres for Polish furniture production
The application
Polish builders of CNC routers and edgebanding machines for the furniture industry wire long gantries that never really stop: two shifts, dust-laden air, and a drag chain that carries power, servo and encoder lines side by side.
The challenge
When drive cables and encoder cables share a chain, shielding is not a detail — it is the difference between a machine that holds position and one that faults out mid-panel. The builder also carried cables from three different suppliers, so every spare-parts list was a small research project.
The Hyverton build
One programme now covers the whole chain. The Servo Motor Cable pairs its supply cores with a shielded signal pair for the brake and temperature sensors, the Encoder Cable carries its own matched shielding for interference-free feedback, and the auxiliary axes run on EKM61100 high-flex PVC chain cable. Sets are kitted per machine model, so a replacement order is one line, not a bill of materials.
Products used: Servo Motor Cable, Encoder Cable, EKM61100 High-Flex PVC
Signal pairs shielded · Encoder feedback interference-free by construction · One kit per machine model · Custom runs from 300 m

LOGISTICS AUTOMATION · NETHERLANDS
Shuttle and sorter systems in Dutch logistics hubs
The application
Dutch integrators building shuttle systems and cross-belt sorters wire some of the hardest-working drag chains in industry: long travels, high acceleration, and a maintenance window measured in minutes, usually at night.
The challenge
Two different movements meet in the same installation. The sorter travels need a chain cable that survives continuous high-speed flexing, while the palletising robot at the end of the line twists its cables through wrist rotations no chain cable is built for. One specification cannot do both jobs.
The Hyverton build
The travels are wired with EKM71100 high-speed flex. The robot gets two purpose-built constructions: Robot Torsion Cable on the rotating axes and Robot Drag Chain Cable inside the dress pack, both in oil-resistant PUR. Every length is pre-cut to the system drawing with metre marking along the jacket, so a night-shift replacement is a swap, not a measurement exercise.
Products used: EKM71100 High-Speed Flex, Robot Torsion Cable, Robot Drag Chain Cable
Torsion and chain movement specified separately · PUR jackets, oil-resistant · Pre-cut to drawing, metre-marked · Custom runs from 300 m

CRANES AND MATERIAL HANDLING
Reeling cables on workshop and yard cranes
The application
Overhead cranes and hoists in workshops and outdoor yards reel their power feed in and out hundreds of times a week. The cable hangs, twists and drags under its own weight, in rain, dust and winter cold.
The challenge
Ordinary round cables corkscrew on the reel: once the lay of the cable fights the winding, the jacket wears in one spot and the cores fatigue. Festoon runs along the bridge add a second problem — space is tight and the cable must fold flat, not kink.
The Hyverton build
The reel feed uses our Reeling Cable, built with an anti-torsion braid and an abrasion-resistant outer jacket made for continuous winding under tension. The bridge festoon runs on High-Flex Power Cable, whose flat geometry folds cleanly in the festoon loop and separates the cores so they share the bending load. Both are supplied cut to the crane's travel length, with the reel end prepared to the builder's connection drawing.
Products used: Reeling Cable, High-Flex Power Cable
Anti-torsion braid for reel duty · Abrasion-resistant jacket · Flat festoon geometry · Cut to travel length
Your machine is the fifth case.
Send us the movement — travel, speed, bend radius, environment — and we will specify the cable set around it, with a formal quotation within one working day.
